Well, Hello Stranger.....

I know, it's been awhile!  Things have been super crazy at Bee's Knees/Baileigh Grace and then summer hit us, and well, we just tend to sit back and relax most days during the summer.  But with school right around the corner, things are starting to fall back into the routine I know and love.  Ok, who am I  kidding?  Anyone who knows me knows that you would have to look pretty hard to find a routine at BK/BG, so I will just be honest and say you can tell a lot is getting done from the mess in the studio.  So here is what's going on:

I have launched ~*Bee's Knees Fabric*~ on Etsy.  You should totally check it out, because my prices ROCK and I ship super quick.  I am so completely addicted to fabric (I know there is crack in those little fibers) and if you are too, I would love be your dealer and hook you up. And just to make it a little more tempting, use coupon code BLOG712 and you will receive 15% off your order until the end of the month.  I have new fabrics coming in all the time, so make sure you LIKE the Facebook page so you get dibs on all the new stuff and sales.

There is a lot more news to share, but I will save it for the next post.

Happy Saturday, y'all!

My New Favorite Thing~~WIN IT!

It has indeed been awhile since I have blogged,  I miss it, but I have been seriously busy creating clothes that I love.  Remember a previous post that featured this "beautiful mess"?

This is an actual pile of ALL of the fabrics from Amy Butler's Soul Blossom CollectionI know, right????  She takes flowers from her garden and infuses them into glorious fabrics....soooo love her.

This particular collection has always reminded me of a girl named Abby.  She is absolutely one of the best friends you could have on your side with a heart bigger than one could possibly imagine.  And when she saw my beautiful mess, she instantly claimed it as her own.

It has earthy tones that remind me of where she came from before our small town was graced with her family.  Funky disco prints for the wild music fanatic that personifies her.  And turquoise.  Turquoise draws her in EVERY single time.

All of these wonderful things led me to create The  ~*Abby*~ Collection out of my beautiful mess.  I took pieces of all these fabrics~~pieces of one of the best people I know~~ and closed my eyes real tight and recited some boppity boo and wished together the perfect skirt.  I am giving away one of these skirts as a special "sneak peak" preview of this collection.  This ~*Abby *~ Tiered Twirl Skirt is also my new favorite piece.  I am head over heels for tiered twirl skirts.  Easy to wear.  Fabulous movement.  Fun in summer & lovin' leggin's when the temp is dialed down.

(PS~~This beautiful model is Abby's stunning creation, Carly.)

Want one?  Here's how to get it for nothing more than a few clicks of a keyboard.

    * "Like" Baileigh Grace on Facebook.
    * Stalk my blog, be a Follower.
    * Show me some love on either site and let me know what your favorite item is on BaileighGrace.com, on Facebook,  or your favorite memory of anything ~*Baileigh Grace*~ (which can absolutely include a picture.)

That's all!  A winner will be randomly chosen on Monday,  April 4th.  I wish you the best of luck, and to my dear friend, Abby, I thank you for your constant inspiration and never ending fabulousness.

~*Cutest Winner Picker*~

I am posting this video because I love this little girl & could just eat her up with a spoon. I look a mess, and the quality is amateur, but it was a nice break in my crazy day yesterday to hang out with Aubrielle for a few minutes. And her cute face is the only reason I am posting. Because I look a mess.

Wanna little preview of what's in the studio????

So there was a photo shoot this weekend. Success.

And there were meetings to get us to the photo shoot. Productive.

And at some of those meetings I told all involved to just trust the creative process. They did.

So here is just a little look at the things I am surrounded by that, in my head, I can see completed. In a day or 2 you will get to see the final product on adorable children in pictures taken by Abby Libsack Photograpy.

What Baileigh Grace did today.....

So, when I started Baileigh Grace 3 1/2 years ago it was just me. In a little tiny office where I cut fabric on a cardboard cutting board on the floor. The FLOOR. Since then I have evolved into almost quadruple that space and I have tables & storage & more resources than I ever dreamed imaginable way back when. And it's still just me here, usually. Cutting fabric, dreaming up designs and fabric combinations, updating the website, working on Quickbooks in the middle of the night....yep, that's me going to bed with my bff the laptop.

Sidenote: There are occasions in which, to be polite, Ben will ask if he can help and I take him up on the offer. That sweet boy has done every step it takes to make a pillowcase dress. He tells me to never tell anyone he is sewing up my hems. And I love to tell EVERYONE.

But it's not just really me. It's my best friends (including one that has mad photography skills... Go here to fall in love with Abby Libsack Photography...) who push me to keep going and stay motivated. It's the little girls who come over and pick out the fabric they love, and the grandmothers who are always needing something special. It's my kids who don't mind if their dinner is a little late so I can finish up a rush order and my husband who puts up with some wicked exhaustion induced tantrums. It's a girl in Florida whom I have talked to less than I count on one hand that holds my heart & inspires me EVERY SINGLE time I am in contact with her. And this weekend it was little girls and boys who made Baileigh Grace designs look effortless, and their mothers who have raised them to be the sweetest little human beings.

I adore you all....thanks for making this madness that is Baileigh Grace.

Sweet, Good Stuff

When bees flit from flower to flower the nectar sticks to their legs. The phrase "bee's knees" means sweet and good, because the knees of the bee are where all the sweet, good stuff is collected.

So many of my friends, family and customers are fascinated by all things fabric and creative and bright and beautiful. I needed a place to share new Baileigh Grace goods, fun crafty ideas and fabulous finds. Giveaways? Sure, there will be many. Sneak peeks? Absolutely. These are, after all, sweet and good things.
